Van de Velde

Born to a family with a history of musical success, it did not take long for Samuel’s eye to fall on the piano. At the age of 5, he followed in the footsteps of his three brothers, all who are accomplished artists in the international music scene.
Samuel Van de Velde is shaping up to be one of the most promising pianists of his generation in Belgium. Even at a young age, he joined the class of world-famous pianists Abdel Rahman El Bacha and Dimitris Saroglou at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel to further hone his musical talent with further training in Brussels, Vienna and Hamburg. He has performed at various prestigious concert halls including Flagey, deSingel, Bozar, and the Royal Palace of Brussels in addition to attending countless national and international festivals as a guest. Some of his prizes inlcude the Belfius Classics and the National Cantabile Competition. Besides his work as a solo performer, Samuel is active in chamber and modern music, and works as an accompanist at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Finally, he is a co-founder of Pianofest in Sint-Niklaas and the founder of the concert series InTheme.
